2019/2020 Kindergarten Registration Information

  • A student is eligible to begin Kindergarten for the school year if he or she will be 5 years old on or before September 1 of the school year they will be attending. 

    PLEASE DO NOT DELAY REGISTERING YOUR CHILD UNTIL SUMMER!  This information is crucial in scheduling bus routes; as well as balancing classrooms.

    PARENT ORIENTATION (This night is designed for parents only)
    Kindergarten Orientation meetings will be held on: 

    •    Wednesday, March 13, 2019 @ Fort Zeller Cafeteria (for families living in the Fort Zeller area)
    •    Thursday, March 14, 2019 @ Jackson Cafeteria (for families living in the Jackson area)

    REGISTRATION PACKETS
    Registration packets may be downloaded from the link on this page; or are available at both K-2 buildings (Fort Zeller or Jackson Elementary), the ELCO District Office or at the Parent Orientation Meeting.

    Registration forms and supporting documents are due on or before April 17, 2019 and can be returned to your child's school building or the District Office.  Early return of your child’s registration paperwork is crucial to the planning and scheduling process. We understand that some forms and appointments (dental and physical exams) may take additional time.  Please submit as much paperwork as possible, and schedule all necessary appointments! Screening date/time will be scheduled upon receipt of initial paperwork.  

    KINDERGARTEN SCREENINGS  (screening dates and times will be scheduled upon receipt of initial paperwork)
    Screenings will take place at the building that your child will be attending.  

    •    April 30 or May 1, 2019 (for students living in the Fort Zeller area)
    •    May 2 or May 3, 2019 (for students living in the Jackson area)

    What to Expect During Screenings 
    Students are brought to the elementary school at the designated time. They will go to the testing location with the assessment team and a staff member will then interview parents.
