• Second grade R.E.A.C.H. Lessons focus almost solely on our PBIS monthly character traits.  Second grade students are challenged to think about themselves, their interpersonal skills, strengths, likes/dislikes, interests, and where they fit in to the world!  We spend time on important personal skills like self-control and social skills and issues like: digital citizenship, cooperation and teamwork, honesty, and diversity.

Our 2nd Grade R.E.A.C.H. schedule for the 2023-2024 school year is below:

  • September: "Who Is Your School Counselor and What Does She Do" Game Show!

    October: Self-Control
*We read Hunter and His Amazing Remote Control by Lori Ann Copeland and made remote controls for our brain!  Students came up with buttons to put on their own remotes that might help them practice their own Self-Control.  For example: "Pause" to help them remember to slow down and think before they act or "Rewind" to help think about what they could do differently next time.

    November: Digital Citizenship

    December: Compassion

January: Finding Your Spot in the World: A Story About Diversity

February: A Little Spot of Honesty

    March: Cooperation

    April: Career

May: A Little Spot of Flexible Thinking: A Story About Adapting to Change
