• For most Kindergarten lessons, I follow a researched-based social-emotional learning program called Second Step. The extra lessons I introduce to the students are based off of teacher feedback as well as school initiatives that require additional student learning.

    Lesson of the Month: Managing Frustration. Students learn how to calm down strong feelings by placing their hands on the belly, saying "Stop," and naming their feeling. For example, they can say, "Stop. I feel frustrated."
