Introduction

Each student was hired as a part of our manufacturing company. They are to research their jobs, discussing job responsibilities, education, advancement, benefits and salary. Each student is evaluated by their peers.

The Quest

Research your specific job assignment and be prepared to give an oral presentation on your findings.

The Process and Resources

Phase 1 - Background: Something for Everyone

Preceding the written and oral presentation the class will view an educational video on colleges in the area that offer courses in their specific fields.

Phase 2 - Looking Deeper from Different Perspectives

Research

Students are to take advantage of any resource material provided by our multi-media center. You will be given ample time to collect all research material. This material must be present the day we are working on our papers. Listed below are two very good internet sources that may be used.

Summarize

Report

After you have completed the research process, you must write a report using a word processor. Your report should be grammatically correct, double-spaced, using nothing larger than 12 pt. font. This one-page report will be written from a worksheet that you have completed.

Phase 3 - Debating, Discussing, and Reaching Consensus

Your oral presentation will last approximately 3-5 minutes summarizing your written report to your classmates.

Phase 4 - Real World Feedback

You will be evaluated on two parts of this assignment. The first is your written report and that is graded by the instructor. The second part of your grade will come from your oral presentation, which will be graded by your classmates using the criteria given to you on the grading sheet.

Your Contact is: the designated contact

Conclusion

Now you have a better understanding of what type of jobs are involved in line production. You should also be aware of the career opportunities and post secondary education needed to obtain one of these positions.
