Transitioning to Health Care Independence:

A Guide for Graduating Seniors and their Parents

Sunday, May 2 • 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Join us for a free three-hour symposium designed to help
graduating seniors (and their parents) learn more about
health care needs and challenges after graduation, and of
finding new physicians as they graduate from high school
and move on to college or go into the work force.

We will also provide parents with tools to assist their
young adults in this process.

TopIcs To be Covered Include:

• Dealing with chronic illness
• Exercise
• Personal decisions
• Proper nutrition
• Sleep and sleep deprivation
• How to obtain health insurance
• Workman’s comp
• Coping with adolescents leaving the home
• Helping adolescents become independent


And a Q&A session - Speakers include two pediatricians, a nurse educator and a social worker.

Refreshments will be provided.

LOCATION: Lecture room A, Penn State Hershey Medical Center (Hershey, PA)

(Parking is FREE: In front of Medical Center, Lot A-1.
Enter at the College of Medicine entrance (right-hand side of
Crescent) and take the elevators to the third floor. Once on the third
floor, follow signs to the designated room.)
