Man on HorseIntroduction

As America gets older, many people are forgetting whom the first inhabitants of this great land were.  So, to make sure the history books do not leave them out, the President of the United States plans to make a Federal holiday recognizing Native Americans as the first settlers of this great land.  He will honor them by giving a major speech to the nation and presenting select Native American leaders with a special award.  The president will also have a fourth grade student present during the ceremony to represent all students of America.

This is where you come in.  You must create a presentation to be entered into the Man on RockNative American Day Student Recognition, or NADSR contest.  The students with the winning presentation will get to spend the night at the White House and receive a full scholarship to the college of their choice.

Find a partner and get ready to research the Iroquois and Algonquian Indians.  Do not take this responsibility lightly.  The history, heritage, and preservation of the Native American people could rest upon your shoulders; not to mention a full ride to college!
