Third grade students were invited to bring a parent and all their siblings for Clay Night at the Jackson Elementary School.  Jackson students came on February 5, 2008.  Myerstown students came on March 6, 2008.

Clay and instructions were provided for making a pinch pot or bowl.  After the pot was formed everyone added color with underglazes.  The pots were then sent to the art room to dry and to be fired.  Each pot will be fired twice.  The first firing will harden the pot.  The hardened pot will be dipped in clear glaze and fired a second time so that the surface becomes shiny.  Pots will be ready for pick-up at the office during parent teacher conferences.
