Demographics

Eastern Lebanon County lies in the heart of the Lebanon Valley, rich in agricultural resources with ample opportunities for both residential and industrial development and growth. The school district comprises five political subdivisions: Heidelberg Township, including Schaefferstown; Millcreek Township, including Newmanstown; Jackson Township; Myerstown Borough; and Richland Borough. The scenic wooded hillsides, clear pure air, and the beautiful countryside surround you in this area. While Philadelphia and New York City are several hours away, smaller cities such as Lebanon, Reading, Lancaster, and Harrisburg are only minutes from your doorstep. The people in the area are the finest you will find anywhere. Many of the families trace their lineage to the early settlers of the country, and some still live in the homes their ancestors built. In addition, there is a constant influx of people from all sections of the nation who come to work in the growing industries of the area. The dedication and rescourcefulness of these people are passed on to their children, who are responsive and eager to learn.
