Ellsworth C. Troutman

Mr Ellsworth C. Troutman was a member of the Myerstown High School Class of 1940. Upon
graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he trained as a combat engineer in the 633rd
Engineering Light Equipment Company. Eps was then sent to the battlefield of Central Europe.
Upon his return to Myerstown in 1944, Mr. Troutman earned the rank of staff sergeant.

Mr. Troutman had an interesting career at Webber Chevrolet of Myerstown, where he began
working as a floor sweeper and eventually became the sole owner of the dealership. Eps was
the cheif of the Keystone Fire Company #1 for 25 years, a member of the Myerstown First Aid
Unit for 35 years, and President of the Myerstown Borough council for 14 years. Mr. Troutman
was a life-long member of the Tulpehocken U.C.C. in millardsville and was married to Jytte
Troutman of Stouchburg.
