Dr. Tammy Lynn Smith

Dr. Tammy Lynn Smith is a graduate of Eastern Lebanon County High School
class of 1977. She earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in chemistry from West
Chester University in 1981, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in chemistry from
UCLA in 1987 and also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Rutgers University
in New Jersey.

While at ELCO, Dr. Smith was an outstanding student-athlete, graduating near the
top of her class and setting school records in the mile and 2 miles races, she still
holds the ELCO record in the mile race set back in 1976.

At West Chester Dr. Smith was awarded an Alumni Scholarship, on the Dean's List
all 4 years, a member of Alpha Lamba Delta Honor Society and graduated
Magnum Cum Laude.

Dr. Smith has several publications to her credit in chemistry and has been an
"invited lecturer" at numerous conferences throughout the United States. Dr.
Tammy Smith also has acquired five patents and has made significant contributions
to the research leading to new products.

Dr. Smith has received over a dozen awards and special recognition including: two
time "Outstanding Contribution Award" from AlliedSignal, Inc., the Herbert Newby
McCoy Award for the greatest scientific contribution in 1985, the highest award
the UCLA department of Chemistry offers, and the American Chemical Society's
Student Chemist of the Year, to name a few.

As a research chemist, Dr. Smith is currently the project leader for one of the most
innovative research programs within AlliedSignal, Inc.

Dr. Smith is married for ten years, she is the mother of three children and resides
in Belle Mead, New Jersey.
