Larry "The Baron" Shenk graduated from Myerstown High School in 1956 and went on to
earn a BS degree in elementary education from Millersville State Uniersity. Larry is the
"Dean of Major League PR Directors," completing his 43rd season with the Phillies. He
joined the organizationin October 1963 as Director of Public Relations, and was named
Vice President, Pulbic Relations, in 1981.
Larry has earned many awards and honors over the years in his position with the Phillies
organization. He received the Robert O. fishel Award in 1983 for excellence in the field of
public relations; was inducted into the Central PA Hall of Fame in 1992; received the
Philadelphia Sportswriters Association Good Guy Award in 1995; and was chosen as the
2003 recipient of hte Richie Ashburn special Achievment Award, to name a new. Recently,
Larry was inducted into the Delaware Baseball Hall of Fame. Larry and his wife, Julie,
reside in Wilmington, DE. They have two children, Debi and Andy.
