Dr. Franklin K. Bergman

Dr. Franklin K. Bergman is a member of the ELCO High School Class of 1958. He attended
Millersville State University where he earned both his B.S. and M.Ed. in history in 1962 and
1966, respectively. Dr. Bergman continued his studies and received his D.Ed. in educational
administration from Temple University in 1987.

Dr. Bergman is certainly no stranger to the ELCO School District. He served as an administrator
in the middle school for 25 years. Upon retiring from the ELCO School District in 1990, Dr.
Bergman kept himself actively involved in education by becoming an associate director of the
Commision on Secondary Schools. More recently he served as an educational consultant in
Cairo and Gaza, Egypt. Dr. Bergman and his wife, Doris, reside in Myerstown. He has two
children, Brigitta and Peter, and a daughter-in-law, Marnie.
